Steven J. Braun is an attorney with Krigel & Krigel, PC where he represents art collectors in private transactions and advises artists, gallery owners and others in the art market. He received his B.A. from Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and holds both an M.A. in Urban Planning and Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Iowa. Mr. Braun has been a lecturer on Art Law at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law, and has organized and spoken at seminars on public art and the art market. He is the author of material and articles on art law, including “Art as Objects of Desire and Collateral - Issues of Title And Provenance,” ABA Intellectual Property Law Committee, Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice, Summer 2009. Mr. Braun is a member of the Catalogue Raisonné Scholars Association. He provides pro bono legal services to artists in conjunction with the Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts project.
